Calgary stampede today ( www.calgarystampede.com )
Hailed as “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”…. The size of the place is just awesome. Its set in site of part of the Winter Olympics in ’88 & it was RAMMED!
The show itself is superb….real cowboy stuff with competitions on how quickly you can tie a calf up etc etc (!)The highlight of the day is the chuck wagon racing & the “Big Show” finale…not sure about the racing. Maybe the torrential rain kind of put us off, or maybe we just don’t get it… the show was pretty awesome through…finally got to see some Freestyle Motocross (which had been cancelled earlier due to the bad weather)
